We here in Owner Services have been very busy making reservations for the coming months including Summer 2017! Westwood owners, welcome to the SPRING edition of Rock Talk News. The last time, I had the opportunity to communicate with you, it was the Christmas season. Now it's already Easter/Spring!!!! With the mild winter we experienced, this afforded our maintenance dept. with the ability to get a jump start on several spring related projects. There are currently projects on the way that are not visible to the eye. Wi-Fi installation, identifying/correcting water leak problems that plagued the resort last year, continued renovations, updating/installation air conditioning units, adding to our housecleaning/office staff and more, all of which will make you and your families stay at Westwood more enjoyable. The board recently re-negotiated our electric contract with our supplier for 3 more years, which will save us/you money. Two other areas of interest: We now have several units, via our reverse deed program, available for purchase at a reduced rate for current owners. Contact Financial Services to obtain additional information. Family parties, reunions or other get togethers, our pavilion, now with gas/propane grills is now available for rent. Contact the office staff for further info. The board hopes that you have already made your reservations for this year and we're looking forward to seeing everyone soon. As we had previously advised, there are various firms who are contacting our members and pretending to represent either Interval International, and/or Split Rock and Mountain Laurel Resorts. These scammers are also using the Internet to prey on Timeshare owners with various promises to help you get out of your timeshare. These firms, many with legitimate sounding names, will invite you to a meeting or seminar, usually at a hotel or restaurant in your area. The pitch is that your plan or resort will no longer work properly and they will get rid of it for you, for a fee. These fees can be exorbitant and can range from between $5,000 to as much as $10,000 and more. In most cases, these firms do nothing but take your money, and you remain as the owner of the timeshare.
If you attend one of these sessions, we urge prudence and skepticism on your part. Attend the meeting, enjoy the meal, listen to what they have to say and ask your questions, but before signing anything or paying any money, call our Financial Services department at 1-888-811-0405. Our representatives are well versed in the alternative available, and together we can work towards resolving any issues you may be having.
